Except as disclosed in these Terms, San Diego on the Cheap.com does not sell or disclose any personally identifiable information it collects about its users nor does it make it possible for third parties to contact its users directly.
Personal Information: San Diego on the Cheap.com collects and maintains a list of email addresses, Twitter account names, Facebook “likes,” and similar information. San Diego on the Cheap.com collects this information on a voluntary basis in order to provide its users with automatic updates of its content, and this information is not sold to or shared with other parties other than third-party services, such as Google Feedburner, which it uses to manage its subscription services. To unsubscribe, subscribers can click on the link in the email updates or adjust their subscription services at third-party websites, such as Twitter or Facebook. When posting comments on San Diego on the Cheap.com, the site prompts users to enter a user name and email address; the email address is not made public on the website and is used for verification purposes only. San Diego on the Cheap.com reserves the right to disclose any and all personal information it collects both as required by law and when that disclosure is necessary to protect or defend its rights, property or users and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on San Diego on the Cheap.com.
Public Website: San Diego on the Cheap.com is a public website. Any information users post in its comments section or any other part of the website can and will be publically available, unless otherwise specified in these Terms. San Diego on the Cheap.com is not responsible for any information, personal or otherwise, users choose to submit on its website and/or any third-party contacts that result thereof.
Children: San Diego on the Cheap.com does not intentionally gather personal information about users who are under the age of 13.
Anonymous Information: San Diego on the Cheap.com collects non-personally identifying, aggregate information about its users, such as search engine keywords, referring/edit pages, pages visited, geographic region, operating system, browser information, date/time stamp, and hyperlinks clicked, as well as non-personally identifying demographic & aggregate information on its Facebook page, www.facebook.com/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/San-Diego-on-the-Cheap/168406586514128. San Diego on the Cheap.com uses this information for a variety of purposes, such as analyzing trends, evaluating its marketing strategies, and modifying its content. The aggregate information may be shared with and/or sold to third parties in a non-identifiable way.
IP Addresses: San Diego on the Cheap.com automatically logs each user’s IP address with each visit and use of the website. The IP address may be linked with personally identifiable information. Unless otherwise noted in these Terms or as required by law, this information is not sold to or shared with third parties. The IP address may be used to block banned users from accessing Cities on the Cheap.
Advertising: San Diego on the Cheap.com uses third-party advertising companies to serve ads when users visit its website, and it participates in Affiliate Advertising networks. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. Affiliate Programs: San Diego on the Cheap.com participates in several affiliate programs including, but not limited to, CJ.com (Entertainment, Restaurant.com, Groupon, etc), Goldstar, TicketsNow, Living Social, & MySavingsMedia. Though the site earns some revenue via affiliate links, San Diego on the Cheap.com retains full editorial control over the deals posted on the site, and it limits the use of affiliate links to the types of deals routinely posted on the site.
Contests. From time to time, San Diego on the Cheap.com will host giveaways and contests on its blog. Neither San Diego on the Cheap.com nor the Official Cities on the Cheap Site owner is responsible for the accuracy of the details of each freebie or fulfillment. The organization providing the item remains fully responsible for providing its description and handling fulfillment. Contest entrants agree to hold both San Diego on the Cheap.com and the Cities on the Cheap Official Site and all its member cities sites harmless in the event that an organization does not fulfill its obligations.
Cookies. San Diego on the Cheap.com, its subscription management services, and/or its advertisers may use cookies to track users’ use of San Diego on the Cheap.com and improve their navigation experience. If desired, users can adjust their web browser settings to block and/or remove cookies from the computer. San Diego on the Cheap.com does not use cookies to track users browsing other websites. San Diego on the Cheap.com is not responsible for any cookies used by advertisers and/or email subscription services, and it has no knowledge of how the information gathered by the cookies can or will be used.
Double-Click DART cookie: Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on your site. Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.
Links to Other Sites. San Diego on the Cheap.com contains links to other “On the Cheap” Official Member Sites as well as other websites, which are neither owned nor controlled by San Diego on the Cheap.com. All local “On the Cheap” sites are independently owned and operated, and individual site owners pay a reasonable fee to link to Cities on the Cheap and use any logos, banners and/or other information owned by Cities on the Cheap. When users click on a link to an Official Member Site or any other link that takes them to another website, they have left San Diego on the Cheap.com’s website. San Diego on the Cheap.com is not responsible for the privacy policies of other sites. By providing links to other sites, San Diego on the Cheap.com does not guarantee, approve, or endorse the information or products available at these sites.
Official Member Sites: Only “On the Cheap” sites linked to on the Cities on the Cheap “Find Your City” page are part of Cities on the Cheap’s network of “Official Member Sites.” All Cities on the Cheap Official Member Sites choose and control their own content, advertising, and subscription management services. Owners of Official Member Sites may not plagiarize their content; accept payment for writing about a product or service without disclosing the relationship; or use images, aside from those associated with the business or organization featured in the post and/or those available to the media, without permission. Owners of Official Member Sites may accept media compensated tickets and similar items, provided that they do not promise editorial coverage in exchange. When a post on Cities on the Cheap or an Official Member Site contains a link created via an Affiliate Advertising program, that relationship must be disclosed to the site’s users in the same post, in the website’s terms, or in another easily identifiable location. Official Member Sites that violate these terms will be removed from the Cities on the Cheap “Find Your City” page and lose the right to use any Cities on the Cheap-owned content and/or images on their websites.
Content: San Diego on the Cheap.com site owners can and will post about freebies, deals and discounts on San Diego on the Cheap.com San Diego on the Cheap.com posts the details of the deals as it finds them. San Diego on the Cheap.com nor its owner is responsible for the accuracy of the details of each freebie, deal or discount or fulfillment. Users of San Diego on the Cheap.com maintain sole responsibility for checking with vendors to verify the validity of each deal. All content on San Diego on the Cheap.com is subject to the same standards as content created by Official Member Sites. San Diego on the Cheap.com can and will, with permission and attribution, repost some or all of content that also appears on Official Member Sites. Each post’s author retains copyright to his/her respective post on San Diego on the Cheap.com . When a post on San Diego on the Cheap.com or an Official Member Site contains a link created via an Affiliate Advertising program, that relationship must be disclosed to the site’s users in the same post, in the website’s terms, or in another easily identifiable location.
Corrections/Content Removal: In the event an error occurs regarding the details of a deal or a business/organization no longer wishes to be featured on Cities on the Cheap, a representative of the business or organization may email sherimcgregor @ yahoo.com (omit spaces) and describe the nature of the concern. Any corrective action, such as updating the site with the correct information or removing the content, will be completed in a timely manner.
Affiliates: San Diego on the Cheap.com is owned by Sheri McGregor. San Diego on the Cheap.com does not currently have any subsidiaries, joint ventures, parent company, or similar affiliates. Should another company acquire San Diego on the Cheap.com, and/or its assets, it will own any information collected as outlined in these terms, and it will assume all rights and obligations regarding the protection and use of that information. San Diego on the Cheap.com will inform subscribers of any change of ownership through its subscription services.
Security. San Diego on the Cheap.com relies on industry-standard security technologies and procedures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, and/or destruction. San Diego on the Cheap.com annot fully eliminate security risks associated with the personal information it collects, and a breech may occur.
Jurisdiction: San Diego on the Cheap.com is based in San Diego, California, in the United States. As such, any information collected by San Diego on the Cheap.com and/or voluntarily provided by San Diego on the Cheap.com users will be subject to the laws and regulations of the United States. Should a dispute arise, San Diego on the Cheap.com users agree that any civil action or legal proceeding shall be brought in the local, state, and federal courts of record located closest to San Diego, California or resolved under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (www.adr.org).
Terms Updates. The San Diego on the Cheap.com Terms may be changed at any time and without notice. Should San Diego on the Cheap.com undergo a change of ownership or make a substantial change regarding its use of personal information, San Diego on the Cheap.com will notify individual subscribers any subscription management services in place. Continued use of Cities on the Cheap’s subscription services and/or accessing its site indicates your acknowledgment of such changes and agreement to be bound by the terms and conditions of such changes.
